I wonder if I'm allowed just ever to be.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw this movie with some dear friends:

I don't know if any of you have seen "The Secret of Roan Inish," but that movie should give you an idea about what to expect. Thick and lovely accents, beautiful hillsides and sea, spunky kids. I thought the abundance of sheer clothing was kind of silly, but there were parts of that touched my heart. Some plot elements in in the movie also reminded me of "The Life of Pi". If you have read the book, you will know what I mean. Tell me what you think. The priest in the movie encapsulated the moral of the story best:

- Misery is easy. Happiness you have to work at. -

Amen.

At one part of the movie, the little girl and her father and watching TV. And who should come onto the screen, but Sigur Ros. Jonsi's voice plays an important part in this scene. Jonsi's voice also played in my heart last night. Or I guess, more specifically, the booming drums and bass of his music. Crazy. You could feel the vibrations through your solar plexus. haha.

I was at the very front left. It was a stirring show, I shed some tears. Emmmmmmmbarassing. The man has crazy eyes. I appreciate Jade for encouraging me to buy his album. I fully appreciated the fetal/rapper stance Jonsi would assume when not playing an instrument. I also appreciated the headdress he wore on stage, the smiles of his band as we applauded each other, and the stellar sweatshirt that my brother bought that I am going to steal from him. Jeremy also got some pics that I will have to put up for y'all. If you haven't listened to him yet, lend him your ears:

Please be good to yourself.

Love,
Gretchen

Dark and Light

Lucifer is the chap who brings false light...
I am shrouding them in the darkness of truth.
