Oh dear.

This song just popped into my head. First time I've thought about it in many, many years.

I feel a little sick to my stomach.
My ears were filled with SO MUCH YELLING for SO MUCH TIME.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I still have all the lyrics to all these songs memorized.

The Urge to be Unidentifiable

I think that most people have the urge to be different.
I would LOVE to be unidentifiable.
Illusive.
Impossible to classify.

But now I realize that it is a lot cause.

Just a little something to remind you that you are not unique.

Even the most unique of us is not really unique.

Graduation - "Grow Till Tall"

Commencement was yesterday. I walked through the woods (literally and figuratively) to get there.

"You'll know, when it's time to go on
You'll really want to grow and grow till tall
They all, in the end, will fall"

I still want to grow.

The Perfect Dress

Every once in a while (ok, everyday), I look around Jezebel. Some would say that the stuff they talk about on that site are "totes inapropes," but actually, most of it is pretty awesome. I especially love their "worth it" section. It gives really good advice that you can trust. Fer reals. So I saw this post on dresses, and thought it was too good to be true. But I just checked the website, and it's real!

I used to spend hours on ModCloth (especially the "longer lengths" section) looking for the right dress (cute, with sleeves, and to-the-knees). And while I fully believe in the power of cardigans, sometimes you just want to be able to put on a dress and go. Well my friends. At this website, you can get a custom-made dress AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.

And they are cute:

And look at this!

SEE! IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE! This makes life so much easier for a Mormon-return-sister-missionary like myself.

I love it.

I'll let you know how it goes if I actually order a dress.

And when I do, it will probably be this one... with inset cap sleeves, and knee length.

I love you eShakti.

Curse You

I miss these e-mails:

I am Teddy. I am 7 years old and have no eyes and blood all over my face. I am dead. If you don't post this in 12 threads, I will come to u.............. ............... .r house at midnight and hide under ur bed. When ur asleep I'll kill y......ou. Don't believe me? Case 1: Patty Buckles got this email. She doesn't believe in chain letters. Well, foolish Patty. She was sleeping when her TV started flickering on and off. Now she's not with us anymore. Haha Patty, haha. You don't wanna be like Patty, do you? Case 2: George M Simon hates chain mail, but he didn't wanna die that night. He put it in 4 threads. Not good enough George. Now George is in a coma&we don't know if he'll ever wake up. Haha George haha! Now, you don't wanna be like George do you? Case 3: Valarie Tyler got this letter. Another chain letter she thought. She only put this in 7 threads. Well, that night when she was having a shower she saw Bloody mary\

Teddy gives evidence of this threat with 3 cases as examples. How could you not believe him? I had to do it.

Also, my coworker told me yesterday that if you look at the elbow when you hi-five, you never miss. Good to know. I struggle sometimes.

Some good to do.

Have you seen this video yet? They showed it after General Conference in conjunction with missionary work. Makes me tear up every time.

I've been wanting to get back into running and needed something to motivate me. I wanted to train for a race, but wasn't sure which, or when. Also, the entrance fees for these races (though they are often for a good cause) can be kind of steep. I was excited to hear about Push to the Finish where you can "provide an opportunity for children with physical disabilities to be able to experience the enjoyment, competition, and sense of accomplishment of participating in a road race." Perfect! That way, for the next few months, I won't just be training for myself, but for someone else. You need to have extra endurance to run WHILE pushing someone. Luckily, it looks like there are a lot of 5k's coming up, I think that's pretty much all I can handle for now.

Click here to watch a video with photos from past races.

I won't be able to do a race in a while since I'm helping with the soccer league every Saturday til June, so I thought I would take the time to recruit more people! This group is just starting out, and they need all the help they can get. Click here to find out more and sign up!

All in the Family

My brother Jeremy made this video.
If you are anything like me, you'll find it slightly terrifying.

Oh yeah. And he did it all on his iPod. Frame by frame.
Exhausting.

Watch my favorite movie. I'm doing you a favor.

I found out from this funny person that "The Fall" is available on Netflix streaming.

You should watch it.
It is also kinda violent in parts (Tarsem Singh is a little loco, but in a good way). It is obvious when you will need to close your eyes an ears.

But it is beautiful too.
One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen...

AND IT STARS THE GUY FROM PUSHING DAISIES!!!

You're welcome.

Really, how could you NOT watch it.

Actually, if you have the choice, DON'T watch it on Netflix on your lame-o computer. It should be viewed in all its Blu-Ray glory. If your nice, I'll let you borrow my copy.

April Mix: Gradual Elation

Guess what.

In less than two weeks, I will have walked across the stage at the Marriott Center, an OFFICIAL BYU GRADUATE. wooooooohooooooo

So here's some music to celebrate graduation. Sorry, you won't find any Vitamin C or Green Day in this mix.

1. Spottie - Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
2. My Home - Nneka
3. Video Games (Lana del Rey Cover) - The Young Professionals
4. Primadonna - Marina & The Diamonds
5. Sweater Weather - The Neighbourhood
6. People In Her Mind - Poor Moon
7. The Tale Of You & Me - Wild Child
8. Lakehouse - Of Monsters and Men
9. Down, Down, Down - Peter Wolf Crier
10. Beth/Rest (Solo Piano Version) - Bon Iver
11. Kids (MGMT cover) - Lady Danville
12. Clementine - Sarah Jaffe
13. Flor Es Ser - Superaquello
14. Shake It Out (Acoustic) - Florence + The Machine
15. April Showers - ProleteR

NOTES:
3. Don't hate.
11. This song reminds me of when I got home from my mission. Did you know I left for my mission almost exactly 4 years ago? Weird.
12. Interesting translation fact: the verb "florecer" means "to bloom" or "to flourish". The nonsense phrase "flor es ser" seems to mean "flower is to be", and not "is to be" like it will happen, but that flower is the essence of being. cool.
15. If someone could arrange for this song to play while I strut across the stage on the 19th, that would be just dandy.

Order in our Home

I think it's important to personalize the places you inhabit. This past weekend, I set out to find some of the quirkier parts of our house. Places that usually go unnoticed, especially by guests. This space is our own.

United Way and Snails

Another post by me on the Untied Way blog! I kind of stole from myself.
No ideas were coming, so I wrote about snails again.
